Sometimes call Kevazingo
An African Hardwood having a close resemblance to Rosewood which makes it an excellent turnery timber. Also used for knife handles, brush backs and fancy goods.
Bubinga is medium red-brown with lighter red to purple veining, and also features a host of stunning grain figures, such as flamed, pommele, and waterfall, which make it truly unique.
The grain is straight or interlocking, with a uniform fine to medium texture and moderate natural lustre
Easy to work overall, but with some silica present can result in some dulling of cutting edges
The texture is moderately coarse but even.
Turns well and some excellent finishes can be achieved
